About me

For the last 14 years, I have taught in inner London schools, well 2 to be exact, but now fancy a bit of a new challenge.

So on the 6th September 2013 I will be leaving the UK in September for 24 months to take up a VSO placement as a Education Leadership Advisor based in Kamembe town, Rusizi District,Western Province, Rwanda

I will be supporting head teachers, sector education officers, and the district education officer, to train and improve their capacity in school leadership and management.  VSO  Rwanda works exclusively with 9-year basic education (6 years of primary school and 3 years of lower secondary) This is both because the need is huge (pre service teacher training does not currently provide primary teachers with strong teaching skills, low levels of English) but also because it fits with our commitment to Universal Basic Education (UBE) and with the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs).
